The role of Council is to listen to the community, work hard to understand the issues and identify solutions and ensure that decision-making is in the best interests of Port Moody. Diana has met those expectations over the years she has served you as an independent voice on Council.

Diana has been committed to the best interests of our community for almost 35 years!

Diana always takes a collaborative, hands-on approach to bringing positive change within the community. She brings experience, knowledge and common sense to contribute to the good governance of the City. Diana has a strong record of engaging with residents and business owners to bring forward action on their behalf, and champions ideas and actions to continue to make Port Moody the best place to live, work and play.

Diana has led numerous initiatives during her time on Council, including:

Founding the Spike Awards recognizing local business excellence

Creating a renewed Affordable Housing Strategy

Developing a long-term Strategic Tourism Plan

Creating a new Economic Development Manager position in City Hall

Establishing the City’s Sports Hall of Fame

Building the Crossroads Hospice Labyrinth Healing Garden

Championing a new location for the Farmer’s Market

Leading the development of the City’s original Sustainability Plan

Working to reduce red tape regionally with an inter-municipal business licence

Chairing the initiative for Port Moody becoming the first in BC to ban cosmetic pesticides

Maximizing opportunities to acquire new park space and enhancing neighbourhood parks across the City

Supporting Local Business

Diana established the Spike Awards, recognizing building excellence in Port Moody.

A Voice for Sports & the Arts

Diana created the City’s Sports Hall of Fame to celebrate local athletes and brought back a beloved community parade to mark Port Moody’s Centennial celebrations.

Supporting Community Groups

Recognizing the need for a healing space, Diana advocated for Crossroads Hospice to build the Labyrinth Healing Garden.

Supporting Public Safety

Diana was the first Port Moody elected official to participate in Fire Operations 101, spending a day in the boots of a firefighter.

Championing Parks & Environment

Diana has been a strong advocate for protecting Port Moody’s natural spaces, supporting the preservation of trails, green corridors, and the waterfront that make our community special.

Advocating for Seniors and Families

Diana has championed initiatives that support residents at every stage of life, from programs for young families to services that help seniors stay connected and active in our community.
